Have Back Pain?  Try This Exercise

Exercise 1 - The Founder

Jan 31, 2017 Update:
the video link previously shown on this page is no longer available.

The purpose of the Founder (in my words) is to activate and develop awareness of the posterior muscle groups, your "back" muscles.  Described in this video as "the posterior chain". these extensor muscles lift  the spine to an upright and elongated posture.

Watch this video several times to get proper form.
Think TALL, especially through the mid- and upper-chest.  The position of feet (and weight distribution), the knees, chest, arms, shoulders, head and neck...all are important.  Practice, practice, practice.  Enjoy better posture today, and a healthy, pain-free back.

Disclaimer
The following videos are provided as a resource and are NOT intended to replace the advice of your medical professional.  Consult with your doctor as needed, listen to your body, and choose what is best for you.  ;-) watch the videos (at least once) and practice, practice, practice. If you are like me, you will notice improved posture, and, hopefully, reduced pain and a strong core and spine.  Enjoy.
